Childrens' Education and Women Empowerment
We are seeking funding to support projects centred on children's education and women's empowerment. These projects include the 'Lioness Children's Library Project,' a school uniform initiative, a youth university sponsorship program, and various women empowerment projects.
Over the past four years, we have set up and run a library to serve a remote area where children aged 5-12 can improve their literacy, get creative, and boost their confidence through informal learning. It has made a meaningful change for them!
We are also in our third year of providing school uniforms for children whose families cannot afford them. Last year, we donated fifty-six uniforms. Some students attend school without footwear or with slippers, while others discontinue their education because they do not have the financial resources for uniforms.
It is everyone's business to make sure children get an education, so we are doing our best to help.
After completing school education, we support youths to go to university, one at a time, due to the costs. In the past two years, we have helped a youth study International Relations at Milton Margai Technical University in Sierra Leone. Education and jobs provide security and help reduce poverty and inequalities.
Lastly, we give women second and third chances with the Lioness Women Empowering projects. We help women without academic qualifications start or grow their businesses, giving them new opportunities for economic independence.
We cannot do this alone but with your ongoing support and with your input we can build a child.
